BHT Hearts Hypnotherapy: here’s 10 reasons why!

When you hear the word hypnotherapy what do you think?
Do you have visions of being made to cluck like a chicken or something equally embarrassing? Well you wouldn’t be alone in thinking such things. Unfortunately stage hypnotists, films and TV programmes have perpetuated a subverted view of hypnosis that is far from the truth.

Hypnotherapy is not about being made to do things, in fact it is the opposite it’s about empowerment, using the power of suggestion for beneficial change. It is a powerful tool, promoting healing and positive development, it is a type of psychotherapy which aims to re-programme patterns of behaviour within the sub-conscious, enabling irrational fears, phobias, negative thoughts and suppressed emotions to be overcome. It has been proven to assist in all manner of physical and emotional issues; from problems conceiving to problems sleeping; dealing with acute pain to fear of flying; giving up smoking to losing weight. Whether you just want to make a few minor adjustments; make sweeping changes or overcome a hurdle that’s been holding you back check out BHT hypnotherapist Sara’s top 10 benefits and see how it could help you become the person you’ve always wanted to be.

1. Treats addictions – Hypnosis can help to break addictions for good by reprogramming the brain away from associating addiction with pleasure, giving back control of behaviour.

2. Reduces stress – Hypnosis relaxes you, giving your mind and body the rest it needs to recharge, heal and function properly.

3. Cures sleep disorders – Hypnosis can help treat the psychological problem that is causing sleep disturbance. Just 15 minutes of hypnosis is equivalent to 4 hours of deep sleep!

4. Manages chronic pain – Proven as an effective pain management technique, people have even undergone surgery using just hypnosis to manage pain.

5. Helps lose weight and keep it off – Hypnotherapy has been proven to be 30% more effective than dieting alone when it comes to weight loss.

6. Treats anxiety and depression – Hypnosis is an effective way to calm anxiety and treat depression for good, getting to the root of the problem rather than masking it with medication.

7. Recovers buried memories – Hypnosis can help us understand and rectify the way we act or behave by discovering the link to childhood memories.

8. Changes behaviour – Often negative behavioural patterns are learned in childhood but a suggestion given while you’re in a deep hypnotic trance can help you to act in more appropriate ways.

9. Promotes deep relaxation – If you have trouble relaxing, hypnosis is a wonderful way to experience truly deep relaxation that will make you feel much healthier.

10. Boosts self esteem – Using the power of hypnotic language we can change the way we feel about ourselves.
