Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

What is NLP?

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) was established in the early 1970s and was founded on the study of three highly successful psychotherapists including Milton Erickson, a widely influential hypnotherapist, which is why NLP and Hypnotherapy are so complementary.

In simple terms, by using NLP we can understand how people organise their thinking, feeling, language and behaviour to create their own reality. This knowledge can then be applied to facilitate positive change to ourselves and others, both by recognising we have the flexibility and choice to change our behavioural processes and through the application of specific exercises and techniques.

What can NLP be used for?

NLP is particularly effective for the following:

  • Emotional problems
  • Stress reduction
  • Fears and phobias
  • Self-help
  • Increased performance i.e. at work or in sport
  • Weight control

What are the benefits of NLP?

  • NLP can be applied to a vast array of life circumstances, all based around the ability to introduce choice and flexibility in how we interact with ourselves and others around us.
  • It enables you to change the way you think and your thinking patterns, the way you act and your behavioural patterns and the way you feel and your emotional patterns.

Who is NLP suitable for?

In a therapy and coaching setting NLP can be used with adults and children in any area of life including relationship issues, motivation and goal setting, self esteem issues, changing unwanted beliefs and outdated mental and emotional patterns, fears or phobias…
