Reflexology

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a holistic and deeply relaxing massage of the feet and/or hands. It is based on the belief that certain points or zones correspond with parts of the body and that stimulating them will encourage equilibrium in the related areas.

The reflexologist uses applies pressure with specific thumb, finger and hand techniques. At the end of the session the feet and/or hands are given a nurturing and luxurious massage to promote restfulness and well-being.

Please see below for more detailed information about Reproductive Reflexology, Reflexology for Menopause and Facial Reflexology.

What can Reflexology be used for?

The theory is that reflexology helps the body to restore its balance naturally. Usually, after a treatment your tension may be reduced and you might feel relaxed. You might also notice yourself sleeping better and find your mood and sense of wellbeing improving. You may also find that other aspects improve too; however, this happens on an individual basis.

With ever increasing levels of stress in everyday life, it is important for people to take more responsibility for their own healthcare needs. Reflexology may be one of the ways to mitigate the stresses of modern life.

What are the benefits of Reflexology?

Reflexology can help your body in many ways:

  • improve nerve function
  • improved energy levels
  • improved circulation
  • relaxation
  • toxin removal
  • nervous system stimulation
  • migraines and headaches
  • speeds healing
  • pregnancy and menstruation

Who is Reflexology good for?

Reflexology is a therapy which can be received by anyone at any age, from newborn babies to those receiving end of life care, and everyone in between. However, there may occasionally be times when it is not suitable to provide a treatment.
